The Board of Directors provides strategic direction and establishes the operating policies of My Sister’s Place.

The Board is comprised of twelve volunteers with a range of skills and experience. Board members are elected at the Annual General Meeting.

Board members serve for two-year terms with a maximum of four consecutive terms, helping to ensure that the Board represents the community it serves. The Board recruits for diverse skill sets.

To qualify, you need to:
Be over the age of eighteen
Submit a letter of interest to the Chair
Attend an interview with the Nominating committee
Have skills and/or experience in a specific area of expertise (e.g., financial management, human resources, strategic planning, development, marketing, communications, event planning, legal, and service delivery)
Have knowledge of or a commitment to learn more about the needs of people leaving an abusive environment

Duties include but may not be limited to:
• Attendance at regularly scheduled Board and Committee meetings.
• Take a leadership role in events or projects as required.
• Be an active fundraising participant

Act as an ambassador for My Sister’s Place and send an expression of interest to the Nominating Committee: Apply to Become a Board Member
