The Board of Directors provides strategic direction and establishes the operating policies of People In Transition (Alliston) Inc., "My Sister’s Place". 

The Board is comprised of up to twelve volunteers with a range of skills and experience. Board members are elected at the Annual General Meeting.

Board members serve for two-year terms with a maximum of four consecutive terms, helping to ensure that the Board represents the community it serves. The Board recruits for diverse skill sets.

To qualify, you need to:
Be over the age of eighteen
Submit a letter of interest to the attention of the Board Chair
Attend an interview with the Nominating committee
Have skills and/or experience in a specific area of expertise (e.g., financial management, human resources, strategic planning, development, marketing, communications, event planning, legal, and service delivery)
Have knowledge of, or a commitment to learn more about the needs of people leaving an abusive environment

Duties include but may not be limited to:
• Attendance at regularly scheduled Board and Committee meetings 
• Take a leadership role in events or projects as required
• Be an active fundraising participant

Act as an ambassador for "My Sister’s Place" and send an expression of interest to the Nominating Committee: Apply to Become a Board Member
